For my first blog entry I am starting a monthly ritual of interviewing some of my friends who are also young adult readers about their favourite books, books that made them cry, books that made them laugh, and so on... To kick it off we have Zhana, aged 11
So, Zhana, what is your favourite book and why?
My favourite book is Tomorrow, When the War Began by John Marsden; because I really enjoy the concept. I also love that it is set in Australia meaning I can relate to it. My favourite book genre is dystopian and this is by far the best of that genre that I have ever read.
What about a book you cried in?
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins because of all the deaths and grief
Agreed, that book is so sad!!! Now onto a lighter note, how about a book you laughed in?
Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison
That one got a few giggles out of me too, anyways; we know your favourite book but what about a favourite book cover?
Broken Soup by Jenny Valentine, the design makes me feel really cool when I read it.
Always important, finally, what was the last book you read and what did you think of it?
Switch by Carol Snow. I really enjoyed it, because I kept worrying that the character would not end up in her own body again, serious suspense!!!
Ah, suspense, the cause of many late nights, reading when you should be sleeping; on that note, the time has come to conclude our little chat.
Yes, time to get back to the book waiting for me.
